2011 — Present
I'm a Writer/ACD at Bernstein-Rein.

2007 — 2011
I was a senior writer at Barkley. It's the largest employee-owned ad agency in the country. I don't have anything to support that claim, but I did read it on the company web site. Clients included Sonic Drive-In, Blue Bunny Ice Cream, 24 Hour Fitness, Pennsylvania Tourism, Helzberg Diamonds, UMB Bank and the Missouri Lottery. My work was featured in the CA Interactive Annual and recognized by the Radio Mercury Awards, the Webby Awards, the Adrian Awards, the AIGA KC Awards and the Addy Awards.

2005 — 2007
I was a writer at Bagby and Company. They were a mid-size shop in Chicago that had just won a large share of the Sony Electronics business. I was willing to stay at the office all night as long as somebody ordered a pizza from Giordanos. It was a good fit. While Sony was the big account there, I also worked on International Truck and Engine, Tag Heuer and United States Gypsum. My work was featured by Stuart Elliot in the New York Times and recognized by the Effie Awards, the Webby Awards and the Ad-Q Awards.

2004 — 2005
I was a writer at Tahan Advertising. I cut my teeth writing radio commercials for the National Electrical Contractors Association of Chicago and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134. For the record, it takes 10.3 seconds to say the client name.

2003 — 2004
Attended Chicago Portfolio School.

2001 — 2003
It's kind of fuzzy. I remember backpacking through Europe, tending bar in St. Louis and then driving a van full of my belongings to Chicago.

2001
Graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
